Leeds United manager Daniel Farke may have been teasing the media, or he may have dropped a significant hint the Whites could still be about tod o some business in the January transfer window. With less than a week of the window remaining, Leeds are yet to do any sort of business to bring players in, and have watched on while rivals such as Sheffield United have made potentially significant additions.
Throughout January Farke has taken the stance the club will “stay awake” to any possibilities but that he was expecting a very quiet transfer window. That stance has softened in the past week and now the Leeds boss has offered his biggest indication yet that Leeds are indeed contemplating some movement, at the very least.
Speaking after a 0-0 draw at Burnley that took Leeds a point further ahead of Sheffield United at the top of the Championship, Farke was asked if there was an update on any potential transfer dealings. His response was intriguing.

“I have not checked my phone for the last six hours,” explained Farke. “I will check it after this press conference, perhaps I can tell you more in the next press conference.”

It may hardly be a resounding affirmation that at least one deal is in the offing, but in a window when nothing was expected, Farke’s words offer the suggestion of encouragement for those who want to see Leeds go out and strengthen.
