Image for In The Know reporter details Celtic’s interest in £7m winger
The Norwegian reporter that broke the news of Celtic’s interest in signing Odin Thiago Holm has tweeted that the hoops are now looking to sign Sondre Orjasaeter from Sarpsborg.
Holm’s Celtic career didn’t pan out as expected but the information about the deal in June 2023 was detailed and accurate.
Orjasaeter has been mentioned among the many wingers linked with Celtic this month but despite signing Jota from Rennes it does seems that Brendan Rodgers could be in the market for another wide-man.

Celtic want to buy Sarpsborg’s Sondre Ørjasæter (21) before the transfer window closes. Talks are ongoing. A sale with a total package of over NOK 100 million (£7.1M) seems likely.
According to what TV 2 has learned, the Scottish major club Celtic has given notice that they want to secure Sondre Ørjasæter in this transfer window.
– There has been interest in Sondre throughout this transfer window, but from experience it is only in the last days of the transfer window that things really happen. So we’ll see what happens, says Sarpsborg sporting director Hampus Andersson to TV 2.
The international transfer window closes on 3 February, and that means that a sale of Ørjasæter must go through within a short time.
Most Celtic fans are looking out for a striker to replace Kyogo Furuhashi but it appears that there is on-going activity throughout the squad.
Celtic have matches against Aston Villa and Motherwell before the transfer window closes with the Champions League Play Off ties being played on February 11/12 and 18/19.
Settling in time looks limited for any January signings but the tone of the report on Orjasaeter suggests that Celtic are planning ahead with squad building.
