BBC POSTPONED: SPFL Confirmed the postponement of the match between Rangers vs Dundee following…..

The SPFL has confirmed the postponement of the Scottish Premiership match between Rangers and Dundee due to a waterlogged pitch. Following two inspections by match referee Don Robertson, the decision was made to call off the game, which was originally scheduled to take place at Dens Park.
The postponement marks the third time this season that Dundee’s home ground has been deemed unplayable, following similar incidents with their matches against Aberdeen and St Johnstone. This has raised concerns and prompted an investigation by the SPFL into the state of the pitch at Dens Park.
Despite the club’s best efforts to make the pitch playable, including work by ground staff since the early hours of the morning, two small areas in front of the dugouts were found to be waterlogged and unsafe for players. Dundee’s managing director, John Nelms, expressed his disappointment, stating that the club had done “everything we could” but that Mother Nature had a different plan.
For Rangers, the postponement is a frustrating setback. The club’s manager and players had been hoping to secure a win to potentially move to the top of the league table. Rangers have expressed their anger at the timing of the decision and the lack of communication, highlighting the inconvenience to travelling supporters. The SPFL is currently working with both clubs to find a new date for the fixture, and it is understood that they have a contingency plan in place. The situation has reignited a debate about the standard of pitches in the Scottish Premiership and the impact of adverse weather on the league’s schedule. For Rangers, the postponement is a frustrating setback.
