Newcastle United fans bid farewell to Miguel Almiron during the January transfer window.
After six years on Tyneside, Miguel Almiron returned to Atlanta United for a fee of around £8m with a possible £3m in add-ons.
Newcastle United fans thanked Almiron for his services and agreed that he always gave his all to the club whenever he was on the pitch.
Almiron was not the only player to leave the club during the January transfer window. Lloyd Kelly joined Juventus on loan with an obligation to buy in the summer. Kelly made his Juventus debut but failed to impress fans and members of the Italian media.

Despite the sudden influx of money, Newcastle opted not to sign any new players. Toon boss Eddie Howe said that the transfer window was ‘successful’ even though he lost two important squad players and didn’t replace them.
Almiron is now enjoying life back in the US. Newcastle’s captain Bruno Guimaraes took to social media to send him a heartfelt message.

Bruno Guimaraes sends social media message to Miguel Almiron
Guimaraes has done an excellent job since donning the captain’s armband at the start of the season. In a recent interview, Guimaraes revealed why Howe chose him as captain – since then, he has made his presence as captain felt off the pitch as well as on it.
Guimaraes gatecrashed Anthony Gordon’s interview after Newcastle reached the Carabao Cup final to tell him he ‘loved’ him and kissed him on the cheek.

Elsewhere, Guimaraes dedicated Newcastle’s win against Arsenal to Rob Lee who had to miss the game after getting a knee replacement on the day of the game.
Almiron celebrated his 31st birthday on Monday. Guimaraes took to Instagram to send his well wishes.
He said: “Happy birthday bro!! I miss you. The best in your life my friend.”

When Almiron left Newcastle, several players sent him good luck messages on social media including Sven Botman and Callum Wilson.
Almiron impressed in his Atlanta return on Saturday – the winger played 69 minutes in a 2-0 win against New England Revolution.
Despite losing a lot of squad depth, Newcastle players were not phased by Almiron and Kelly’s exits. Reports suggest that they are solely focused on winning silverware for the first time since 1969.

Newcastle may have already found Miguel Almiron’s replacement
When Almiron left in January, an immediate concern was who would take his place within the squad. Jacob Murphy is the only natural right-wing option at Howe’s disposal for the rest of the season.
However, William Osula played on the wing in Newcastle’s FA Cup triumph against Birmingham City on Saturday evening and seriously impressed.
Osula bagged two assists and earned praise from many former players. Stan Collymore said Osula is at ‘the right club’ to develop and admired his physicality.
Howe called Osula a ‘natural goal scorer’ following the Birmingham win. His performance helped the Magpies reach the fifth round of the FA Cup where they will face Brighton.
Newcastle’s issues with depth look to have a solution thanks to a powerful, versatile player.
