LeBron James Sends ‘Special’ Anthony Davis Message After Win vs. Kings
The Los Angeles Lakers made it back-to-back wins on Thursday after their 113-100 road victory against the Sacramento Kings. Anthony Davis put up a monster 21-point, 19-rebound double-double to go along with four assists, three steals and six blocks as the nine-time All-Star led his team to an important victory in Sacramento’s Golden 1 Center. This is far from the first time Davis has put up video game-like numbers, which to a certain extent, has become something fans expect from him virtually every single night. However, LeBron James just wants to remind supporters how amazing Davis is and how important these types of performances are for the Lakers.
“I mean, AD is special,” James said after the win, via The Athletic. “Don’t take those performances for granted and say, ‘That’s just AD doing AD.’ No. That’s a special talent and a special player. And we needed every last one of those (19) boards.” LeBron wasn’t bad himself, logging 19 points, six rebounds and seven assists, but there’s no denying that Davis was the star of the show on Thursday night.
“(AD) was phenomenal tonight,” Redick said. “And it just shows you how elite he is as a player that he can have a 7-for-20 night and still dominate a basketball game.” Davis was a force on both ends of the floor, but the five-time All-Defensive forward/center proved on Thursday against the Kings that he still remains one of the best defensive players in the NBA today. More of the same will be expected of Davis when the 15-12 Lakers return to action on Saturday in a rematch against the Kings. This time around, however, it’s LA who gets to host Sacramento at Crypto.com Arena.
