Celtic are reported to have opened talks to sign Tobias Slotsager from BK Odense.
The news comes from Anthony Joseph of Sky Sports News who is recognised as a reliable source of Celtic news and information.
Slotsager is out of contract at the end of this season but would still cost Celtic a Development Fee based on FIFA criteria.

A 19-year-old central defender has lots of development to do but there could be a vacancy opening up at Celtic for a fourth choice in that area of the team.
Cameron Carter-Vickers and Auston Trusty are the current preferred pairing with Liam Scales as back-up.
Stephen Welsh has moved to Mechelen on loan which leaves Maik Nawrocki as the current fourth choice, with just 10 minutes of first team activity this season it is clear that the Pole hasn’t developed as expected following his July 2023 move from Legia Warsaw.
Slotsager would appear to fall under the project category, at one stage that seemed to be the focus of Celtic’s recruitment efforts but the arrivals of Nicolas Kuhn, Trusty, Luke McCowan and Adam Idah has shifted the focus to a slightly more experienced profile.
Joseph’s claim that talks are on-going with the players representative suggests that a pre-contract agreement could be reached with no obvious sense of urgency to get the move completed during the January window which runs until February 3.

When Barkas was mentioned I went on to YouTube and looked at his skill reel so to speak and concluded that the guy was not a goalkeeper, not even a bad one, and assumed Celtic would do the same
They bought him! Would love to know who made that decision.
Not so with this guy. Looks great, Hope we get him.
