BREAKING NEWS:Sam Lammers announce return to Rangers …
When Rangers fans think of Sam Lammers they genuinely tend to think of something of an empty jersey.
The beanpole forward had a six month stint in Glasgow defined by missed opportunities and a timidity Rangers fans have gotten all too familiar to seeing in the Ibrox pressure cooker.
When they’re not thinking about how Sam Lammers flopped on the pitch, Rangers fans are probably lamenting the £3.5m we reportedly shelled out for his services under Michael Beale.
Restarting his career with a six month loan stint at Utrecht last season, Lammers headed to FC Twente as part of a five-man exodus which only recouped £800k to the Ibrox coffers this summer.
And now Rangers might be set see the striker back at Ibrox only six months or so later with FC Twente already putting one foot in the Europa League last 16.
FC Twente could yet Rangers in Europa League
Rangers already know who they could face in the Europa League last 16 after bypassing the competition’s playoff round.
Following the commencement of the Playoff round draw, Rangers know they will face one of Fenerbahce v Anderlecht or FC Twente v Bodo/Glimt.
Whilst Jose Mourinho’s Fenerbahce swept the Belgians aside, FC Twente made much tougher work of their clash with Bodo/Glimt.
