Chicago Bulls: Major Zach LaVine to Los Angeles Lakers Trade News.
As LeBron James approaches his 40th birthday, he is finally showing signs of slowing down. So, it is very clear that the Los Angeles Lakers have a narrow window if they want to compete for another ring with ‘The King’ still in town. The current Lakers team does not seem to be capable of putting up a Championship run though. They have a great core in LeBron and Anthony Davis, and plenty of good players around them. But as their 16-12 record suggests, they are in the middle of the pack right now. Nowhere near the likes of the Boston Celtics, Oklahoma City Thunder or Cleveland Cavaliers.
The Lakers need to make some additions if they are to take a step forward and become contenders. Could a Chicago Bulls star be the answer? Zach LaVine has proven the doubters wrong with his performances at the start of this season. There was not believed to be much trade interest in the 29-year-old in the summer but the picture seems to be very different now. LaVine’s name has been linked with the Lakers on numerous occasions over the past few months. Many believe that the free-scoring guard would be the right fit for the team. Is such a trade a real possibility though?
According to Jovan Buha in The Athletic, the Lakers are not anticipated to be heavily in the mix for LaVine. So, it looks like LaVine is not likely to wear the gold-and-purple of the Lakers. But that does not mean that other teams would not be interested in the in-form Bulls guard. In fact, he has been heavily linked with a move to the Denver Nuggets in recent days. Let’s see if that rumored interest leads anywhere.
