Things have gone bad to worse for Borna Barisic since leaving Rangers.
The Croatian defender departed the Scottish Premiership last summer after Philippe Clement and the club opted against offering the left-back a new deal.
He followed in teammate John Lundstram’s footsteps by joining Trabzonspor weeks later.
However, after failing to make the grade at the Turkish outfit – starting just THREE times – Barisic found himself a new club on deadline day.
Spanish side Leganes picked up the 32-year-old, as well as Aberdeen forward Duk in the final hours of the transfer window.
But Barisic’s luck with injury has not let up, with the Croat sustaining a serious knee injury just moments into his La Liga debut against Valencia.

He lasted just 10 minutes in the 2-0 defeat. Leganes have since confirmed his season is over.
A statement reads: “After having to withdraw injured in this Sunday’s match between Valencia CF and CD Leganés at the Mestalla Stadium, and after undergoing tests this Monday, the Pepinero player Borna BariÅ¡ić has been diagnosed with a tear of the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee.
“BariÅ¡ić played his first minutes as a Leganés player in Valencia, after having joined the club last Monday, on the last day of the winter transfer market, on loan from Turkish side Trabzonspor.
“The club wishes the player a speedy recovery and best wishes.”
