Neal Maupay revealed: What ex-teammates really think of ‘amateurish’ Everton dudNeal Maupay has rarely been a popular player in dressing rooms as fallout from his latest Everton antics continues, according to Ian Darke.

Maupay riled up Toffees fans once again on social media after his post on X (29 December) mocking his parent club’s 2-0 defeat to Nottingham Forest last time out.TV commentator Darke, speaking exclusively to Goodison News, claims unnamed former teammates of the Frenchman have often not taken to him and brands the 28-year-old “amateurish” in his actions.

“I don’t think he’s been the most popular character in dressing rooms where he’s been. I won’t name names, but players have told me that directly,” Darke revealed.

“So I don’t think anybody needs to be that worried about it – it’s quite amateurish to be speaking like that when he’s still on the payroll. It’s not how you should conduct yourself as a professional footballer, especially when Everton kind of tried to rescue him from an ailing career. He has so far scored twice in 12 games in all competitions for Marseille, with whom he is on loan with a club obligation to buy next summer.
