Huge Mo Salah contract update
Liverpool are battling headlines about the future of several of their top players who are in the final year of their respective contracts and Mohamed Salah is one of the stars who could move on next summer on a free transfer.
Salah has been an iconic player for Liverpool and will be considered a legend at Anfield long after he moves on from the Merseyside giants.
His current deal expires at the end of the season and Liverpool are keen to make sure that the winger extends his contract and continue at the club beyond next summer despite looking at potential replacements for him
Saudi Pro League clubs are keen to sign him next summer on a free transfer and even Paris Saint-Germain are working on convincing the player to move to the French capital next year.
Salah has maintained his counsel amid the speculation over his future and Liverpool fans are now trying to pick up clues through his behaviour on the pitch.
The attacker has been at his best again this season, scoring seven times and registering the same number of assists in 12 appearances in all competitions.
Salah again came to the fore against RB Leipzig on Wednesday evening and provided the assist for Darwin Nunez’s goal in the 1-0 win for the Reds.
The Egyptian was replaced in the 64th minute and the winger looked unhappy at being taken off by Liverpool manager Arne Slot.
The Dutchman is worried about the injuries in his squad and admitted that the star man was substituted to preserve him for the big game against Arsenal on Sunday.
“We have some injuries now, so I have to take good care of the players who have played a lot”, Slot said.
“Mo is one of them and Sunday is a big game coming up again.”
Salah has continued to remain an ultimate professional on the pitch and has been the primary source of goals and assists for Liverpool this season despite the talk over his future at the club.
His reaction on Wednesday night showed that he still cares about playing for Liverpool and wants to do well at Anfield.
Despite talk of him leaving Liverpool next summer, the winger still has the same passion for Liverpool and wants to contribute to the team’s success.
With the way he reacted, there are signs that he sees his future at Anfield and Liverpool are also calm about his future at the club.
