Injury expert predicts how long Micky Van de Ven will be out for

An injury expert predicts just how severe the hamstring injury to Micky van de Ven could be based on the available information, and it could be good news for Tottenham.

The Lilywhites showed their attacking prowess in the first-half, taking the game to the Premier League champions and racing to a two-goal lead before the visitors pulled one back in the dying stages of the half.

In the second period, Ange Postecoglou’s men dug deep and showed the kind of resolve and character that was missing against the likes of Brighton and Crystal Palace, emerging with a deserved win.

However, the one black spot was the fact that Micky van de Ven came off with a hamstring injury early in the game. The Dutchman was in tears when he walked off, potentially indicating a serious problem.

Injury expert provides a promising prediction

The social media account Physio Scout, which provides expert analysis on injuries, has now suggested that Van de Ven’s injury might not be as serious as initially feared.

The account claimed when the 23-year-old made the tackle which caused the problem, his right leg could be seen going into an extreme knee flexion, which might have led to some tightness.

It is explained that it was just a case of hamstring tightness, Van de Ven could be back in action in less than a week, but if it is a grade two tear, he will remain sidelined for four to six weeks.

Potential opportunity for Radu Dragusin

Everyone associated with Spurs will be keeping their fingers crossed and hoping that it is nothing more than muscle tightness. However, the players usually tend to know in these situations and Van de Ven’s reaction suggested that it was a serious issue.

If that is indeed the case, this opens the door for Radu Dragusin to step up and showcase his quality, with the Romanian having waited patiently for his chance.
