Jake O’Brien could leave Everton in January alongside Beto and Dominic Calvert-Lewin after a slow start to life at Goodison Park use.
The Toffees have had a difficult campaign so far which has seen them secure just one Premier League win but have gone unbeaten in their last three matches.Sean Dyche has opted to utilise a similar squad each week which has made chances harder to come by for certain fringe players.
With transfer rumours and contract talks building ahead of the January window, Goodison News have assessed three players who could leave Merseyside this winter.
Jake O’Brien
The summer signing has had a tough time since signing for the Toffees with Dyche seemingly concerned about trusting him to start games. This is bizarre given that the Republic of Ireland international joined the club in January from Lyon in the most recent window for £17million [Sky Sports].There is a chance that this move was influenced by the French outfit’s owner John Textor who was linked with a takeover at Goodison before Dan Friedkin took the initiative in that race. After just 26 league minutes this campaign, the January window could pose an opportunity for the 23-year-old to either go out on loan for some regular football or be sold as Everton looks to recoup as much of that £17m as possible and cut their losses early.Beto
It won’t come as a surprise to supporters that the striker could be on the chopping block at Goodison after a generally poor spell in England. The 26-year-old signed from Udinese over a year ago but has failed to establish himself in the starting XI, scoring just six goals in all competitions. This would be reason enough for the Guinea-Bissau forward to be moved on but there is genuine transfer interest in his signature from Italy.Interest from Juventus and Roma has been mooted by Gazzetta on 13 October with a return to the Serie A entirely possible in January.
