Jamie Carragher picks ‘excellent’ Everton player in his best England XI under Thomas Tuchel
Everton have had their fair share of controversy involving Jamie Carragher in recent times, but he’s decided to be nice as he picks a familiar face in his best England XI.
Sean Dyche has had his critics, but he’s doing a terrific job at Everton of late, with the Toffees now just three points off tenth position.
It was Michael Keane who proved Dwight McNeil’s admission about his shooting right at the weekend, as the centre-back unleashed a lethal strike into the roof of the net for the second against Ipswich.
Iliman Ndiaye grabbed the first goal with another impressive finish, and he even had time to react and sing along to his own song after the game.
Interestingly, Jamie Carragher had something nice to say about an Everton player, as he picked him in his best England XI under Thomas Tuchel.
Jamie Carragher ripped into Everton for their post about Anthony Gordon following his penalty miss when Newcastle came to Goodison Park.
Jordan Pickford guessed the right way and the crowd erupted, which resulted in the light-hearted post from the club’s official account.
Now, Carragher has changed his ways and is actually being nice to Everton.
When speaking on Sky Sports last night, Carragher picked his strongest England XI and named Jarrad Branthwaite in it, as well as complimenting him.
“I think Branthwaite, excellent on the left foot as well, gives you that balance, but also gives you that size and pressure that England had in Harry Maguire. You think how important set pieces were in tournaments.”
Jarrad Branthwaite has only featured once in the Premier League for Everton this season, and that ended up being their first win against Crystal Palace.
The defender has improved dramatically since returning from his loan spells, but his injuries are holding him back now.
