This raised the concern level for Lakers fans, who rightfully fear the worst when it comes to Anthony Davis. After the game, however, the fanbase was offered a huge relief. Lakers insider Dave McMenamin reported that Davis was able to walk without any support and was considered day-to-day.

Davis confirmed this report afterward and said he is planning on playing against the Kings on Saturday.

Lakers News: Anthony Davis Planning to Play on Saturday.

This is excellent news for the Lakers. They will have two full days of rest before facing Sacramento at home. The Lakers don’t have a road game until January 5, giving AD additional time to fully heal from the ankle sprain.

The Lakers are currently in sixth place in the loaded Western Conference. However, they are only two games ahead of the 11th-seeded Spurs. Losing one of Davis or LeBron could be disastrous in a conference that has such a small margin of error.

AD played a career-high 76 games last season and the Lakers are hoping the nine-time All-Star can replicate that level of availability.
