‘No chance…’ Celtic fans sent striker transfer message they won’t like as deadline looms

It has been a week since Kyogo Furuhashi left Celtic and that striker void is yet to be filled.
On Sunday, Kyogo made his Rennes debut, despite his side’s much-needed win, it didn’t go to plan for the Japan star, but over in Scotland, a certain Adam Idah is now starting to find his feet.
Idah netted a brace at Villa Park in midweek in the Champions League and then backed it up by scoring during the win over Motherwell at Fir Park.
The Republic of Ireland international has stepped up when it has mattered most because Celtic are still searching for that striker via the transfer market.
Everyone is aware of how the powers that be at Parkhead do business, they won’t rush into any situation and if they don’t feel the financial package is right, then they will walk away.
That seems to be happening with Celtic’s pursuit of Mathias Kvistgaarden from Brondby, as talks have stalled and a deal might not happen.
So, what happens if Celtic don’t sign that striker this month?
Johnny Kenny backed to fill striker role for Celtic
Johnny Kenny made his Celtic debut last month and was on the bench for the win at Fir Park – he was recently recalled from his loan spell at Shamrock Rovers.

Pat Bonner has watched him up close and personal and thinks he could be the guy to fill that striker void, alongside Idah, if a striker isn’t signed before Monday’s 11 pm deadline, as he told BBC Radio Scotland.
It’s not what the Celtic fans want to hear because the club have secured knockout football in the Champions League and are pushing for the Treble.
“I watch Johnny Kenny for Shamrock Rovers, a different level, of course,” said Bonner. “But nice and sharp. Full of confidence also because he scored a lot of goals in the Conference League.
“Could he be the one if they don’t (sign a striker)? They make a rational decision and say, ‘listen, we are in a good position where we can maybe wait until the summer to bring somebody in because we have Adam (Idah). We have Maeda who can play through the middle. We have Johnny Kenny who may show us that he has something’.
“Teams know that Celtic are under pressure. If they are going to get a striker, they will have to pay through the nose for a striker – is somebody going to come here to be number two to Adam Idah? No chance. They want to come here as number one. The next 24 hours will tell the tale, in that perspective.”

Idah’s numbers for Celtic this season
It needs to be remembered that Celtic paid big money for Idah in the summer, so perhaps, the club is reluctant to push the boat out like that again.
It might not sit well with the fans, but those in the boardroom have always made unpopular calls, and let’s be honest, it has worked the majority of the time.
But, as of right now, the limelight and pressure is on Idah, and despite scoring three goals during this past week, he still has to pick up his game now that Kyogo has left.
