Paul Merson makes ‘honest’ Everton vs Fulham prediction

Everton were able to return from the international break with all three points on the weekend as they continue to pull away from the bottom three.

And Sean Dyche will view Saturday’s game as another opportunity at putting three points on the board when they welcome Fulham to Goodison Park.

Everton go into the game sitting in 16th spot but now have a five-point advantage over Crystal Palace in 18th.

It all remains extremely tight with things capable of changing week to week but Everton have looked considerably better compared to their dismal opening four games.

Dyche has admitted Everton still have issues they need to iron out of their game following the win over Ipswich.

But Saturday could be the perfect opportunity to show the fans just how far the Toffees have improved over recent weeks.

Three points on the weekend would take Everton level on points with their opposition, Fulham, who go into the weekend sat in 10th spot.

It would mark quite the turnaround for the Blues who started the season off with four straight defeats in the league.

And Everton could see Jarrad Branthwaite return with Dyche admitting he is back in contention to play

However, Paul Merson has already suggested he think this is the game Everton’s recent unbeaten run comes to an end.

“Everton were spectacular against Ipswich Town, they never looked like they were in the slightest of troubles. But this is a bigger test, no doubt,” Merson told Sportskeeda.

“Fulham have impressed me so far this season, however, they have now lost two games on the trot. You lose three games on the bounce in this league and things around you can change quickly.

“If I’m being honest, it’s a really tight game to call. But I just think Fulham will get the three points. They missed a lot of chances in the defeat against Manchester City and there wasn’t a lot between them and Villa either. Fulham play nice football and I expect them to get a win.”
