Philippe Clement’s payoff if he is sacked by Rangers as hidden clause in contract extension floated

The Rangers board won’t be scared by the potential pay-off to under-fire boss Philippe Clement if they want to show him the door.

That is the view of Tam McManus – who reckons the Belgian will have a clause in his contract slashing the amount of money he is owed after penning an extension until 2028 before a ball was kicked this season. He reckons that he will land a maximum of a year’s compensation if the Gers’ higher-ups wield the axe.He told PLZ: “I don’t think it will be a four-year compensation. I think most managers get six months to a year in terms of getting paid off.

“I don’t think that’s an issue if Rangers continue to lose games and it becomes a decision that they can’t afford not to make; They have got a huge game coming up a week on Wednesday – Aberdeen away.
