Philippe Clement’s payoff if he is sacked by Rangers as hidden clause in contract extension floated

The Rangers board won’t be scared by the potential pay-off to under-fire boss Philippe Clement if they want to show him the door.

That is the view of Tam McManus – who reckons the Belgian will have a clause in his contract slashing the amount of money he is owed after penning an extension until 2028 before a ball was kicked this season. Clement is facing increased pressure following Rangers‘ lacklustre defeat to Kilmarnock – which left the Light Blues unable to close the gap on Celtic and Aberdeen at the Premiership summit following their draw on Saturday.

Some concerned fans have called for the board to act and remove the gaffer with the club entering a crucial period. FCSB will travel to Ibrox for their Europa League showdown before they face off against St Mirren in the league this weekend. It’s then a massive trip to Pittodrie to face Jimmy Thelin’s unbeaten Aberdeen.
