Pressing Leeds United transfer question remains unanswered despite loan ace’s impressive campaign:
Leeds United are inching in front of nearest rivals Burnley on goal difference with a five-point gap to 3rd-place Sheffield United. LUFC sit top of the Championship table with three games left to play.
Whites fans have been here before; they saw last season’s imperious form in overhauling Leicester City’s 14-point lead reduced to rubble. A 4-0 humbling at QPR started that very ‘Leedsy’ trend.
However, with three games left to play, the Elland Road side are in the driving seat of their destiny. One reason behind that is a potent attacking front in a team that has scored 83 goals to press.
Spurs loanee and Israeli international Manor Solomon is one player contributing to that output.
Solomon’s journey to Leeds United
25-year-old Solomon started his career in his native Israel with Maccabi Petah Tikva. His first big move came in January 2019 with a move to Ukrainian side Shakhtar Donetsk.
His time with the Ukrainian top-tier side saw him feature 106 times, scoring 22 goals and contributing nine assists. He moved into English football in the summer if 2022 with a loan move to Fulham; this move coming about after a FIFA ruling following the outbreak of war in Ukraine.
His one season with the Cottagers saw him underline his potential with four goals and an assist in the Premier League across 19 appearances. The successes with Fulham saw him make a free transfer move London to his current parent club, Tottenham Hotspur.
A meniscus injury cut short his time with Spurs. His 277-day layoff meant the North London side saw him make only five Premier League appearances.
Despite this, Leeds United took a chance on him and it is a chance that has paid off well.
Leeds United seeing a glowing Solomon
Leeds United fans likely groaned a little when Solomon suffered a hamstring twinge in mid-September 2024. It meant that he missed four games and first, his performances could be classed as more workmanlike than impressive.
