Rangers adding only one player to their squad in the winter transfer window so far is unbelievable, according to Andy Halliday.
Assessing the Gers’ current situation, the Motherwell star said that they need to add at least one more centre-back to their ranks before the window slams shut on 3 February, although he was impressed by Robin Propper’s performance in the 2-1 UEFA Europa League loss against Manchester United.
He went on to express his disappointment at the fact that the Glasgow giants have only signed one player – Rafael Fernandes – during the transfer window so far.
“[Rangers need to sign a] centre-half for sure”, Halliday said on the Open Goal podcast (28 January).
“I actually thought he [Propper] was really good against Manchester United, but again, does he suit Scottish football? Does he suit the domestic football in Scotland?

“I’m not too sure, but what is it? 26th of January and Rangers have made one signing, I cannot believe it. Honestly, I cannot believe it.”
Should Rangers sign more players this window?
With Rangers sitting 10 points behind Celtic having played a game more, it is easy to see why many, including Halliday, think, they should have added more players to their squad by now.
However, the Light Blues were always set to have a quiet winter transfer window in terms of incoming players.

Philippe Clement’s side signed Fernandes from Lille on loan until the end of the season after Neraysho Kasanwirjo picked up a serious injury in November.
It is very unlikely that Rangers sign another play before the window closes on Monday, 3 February.
The only player the Ibrox outfit may sign is Dundee midfielder Lyall Cameron, who they would probably sign on a free transfer in the summer anyway.
On the flipside, a few players could be on their way out of Govan in the final days of the window, with Cyriel Dessers and Rabbi Matondo among those linked with an exit.
It remains to be seen if their departures will change Rangers’ stance in terms of new signings between now and Monday.
