Shocking twist as Mike Dean claims West Ham star Mohammed Kudus will be banned for six games after Spurs red
Disaster struck for West Ham as they collapsed to lose 4-1 at bitter rivals Spurs.
Star player Mohammed Kudus was red carded after a moment of madness in the second half.
That meant West Ham’s best player will miss games against Man United, Forest and Everton.
As pointed out after the game on Hammers News, the two-week November international break then kicks in.
As a result, Kudus would not be seen in a West Ham shirt until the last week of November away at Newcastle.
West Ham’s disastrous derby defeat to Spurs
Somehow things could get even worse for West Ham boss Julen Lopetegui and Kudus, though.
Kudus was seen kicking the ball against brilliant Tottenham defender Micky van de Ven while he was on the floor following a tussle between the two.
Van de Ven took exception and jumped up to confront Kudus, calling him crazy.
The Spurs man then shoved Kudus who reacted by pushing Van de Ven in the face.
The towering Dutchman had played the tough man but then suddenly went down embarrassingly clutching his face.
Tottenham players then rushed Kudus who appeared to catch their midfielder Pape Matar Sarr too.
The referee tried to use common sense by giving both Kudus and Van de Ven yellow cards.
It just delayed the inevitable, though, as VAR intervened and a pitch-side review saw Kudus’ yellow cancelled and a red card produced instead.
The reality the Ghanaian will now miss West Ham’s next three games dawned on fans as Kudus made his way for an early bath.
But in a shocking twist Dean claims West Ham star Kudus will be banned for six games after his Spurs red.
The former top Premier League referee is now a regular on Sky Sports’ Soccer Saturday.
And Dean has explained why he believes the FA will now retrospectively ban Kudus for six games.
- “When you see the footage back, the first one he could have got sent off for – which I’m hoping he has,” Dean said.
