Thierry Henry makes Everton claim live on Sky Sports after what he has seen

Thierry Henry believes the size of clubs like Everton and West Ham United adds additional pressure on their managers.

Speaking on Sky Sports after the Irons’ 1-1 draw with Bournemouth on Monday (16 December), the Frenchman, who was once linked with becoming an assistant manager at Goodison Park, expressed his desire to see them give more time to Julen Lopetegui at the London Stadium.

However, he added that the Toffees as well as the Hammers feel they should always be higher up the table than they are, making life difficult for those in charge.

“They [West Ham] were minutes away, apart from that free-kick, from winning back-to-back games, so it would have been a great result [against Bournemouth]”, Henry said.

“I hope it can give him [Lopetegui] time to perform and show what he’s about. But again, I go back to what I said before.

Sometimes, at West Ham, Everton and Newcastle, clubs like that feel like they should be higher and doing better than what the team are actually doing.
